Niantic the writer of Pokémon GO proclaims Pokémon GO Competition of Colours again with type, surprises, and Pikachu in a Kurta.
Get ready to paint the town with your favourite colors as Pokémon GO’s Festival of Colors is back with another edition in India and globally from Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM local time (IST in India) until Monday, March 17, at 8:00 PM local time (IST in India). As the festival of colors is set to fill the streets of India with vibrant hues and joyful celebrations, Pikachu wearing a kurta will be making a special appearance to join in the fun. This year, trainers from around the world will have the chance to experience fun surprises and engaging in-game features, including unique Pokémon encounters, exciting bonuses, and festive celebrations. But that’s not all—this year’s Festival of Colors is turning up the celebration for Trainers in India more immersive with locally-inspired bonuses. Get ready to take on special Branching Timed Research, cheer on the adorable Pikachu in a kurta as it stars in one-star raids, and enjoy extra Candy with every Pokémon caught in raids. Whether you’re spinning PokéStops in your neighborhood or teaming up with friends for epic battles, these added surprises are designed to make your Pokémon GO adventure brighter, bolder, and more rewarding than ever before.

Regional Bonuses for Trainers in India
Regional bonuses such as Branching Timed Research, One-star raids featuring Pikachu wearing a kurta and One additional Candy for catching Pokémon in raids will be available for Trainers in India.

Pokémon GO Festival of Colors 2025: Event Bonuses
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Bruxish will appear more frequently when Trainers use Incense.
- Take a few snapshots each day of the event for a surprise!*
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for two hours.
*If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Smeargle! Please note that Smeargle will appear in snapshots a limited number of times. Shiny Smeargle will not appear after the event, but it might return in future events.
Wild Encounters
Various Pokémon including Drowzee, Magikarp, Natu, Aipom, Meditite, Dwebble, Red Flower Flabébé, Blue Flower Flabébé, Yellow Flower Flabébé, Bruxish will appear more frequently in the wild. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Bruxish—if you’re lucky!
Flabébé with differently colored flowers such as red, blue and yellow will also appear in the wild depending on whether you are in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa or Asia-Pacific or American region. respectively.
If you’re lucky, you might encounter White Flower Flabébé and Orange Flower Flabébé, no matter what region you’re in
Raids – While Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon will appear in three-star raids, Tapu Koko will appear in five-star raids and Mega Swampert will appear in Mega Raids. If you’re lucky, you may also encounter a Shiny one!
Field Research Task Rewards – Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available. Complete Field Research tasks to earn Stardust and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
Timed Research – There will be a free Timed Research opportunity available. Timed Research rewards include One Incense, Four Rare Candies, Encounters with event-themed Pokémon and more! Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Monday, March 17, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Paid Timed Research
For INR 59, you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research. Timed Research rewards includes Two Lure Modules, Four Incense, 2,000 Stardust and Encounters with Bruxish. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.
